does anyone know if one should give notice to facebook. before deactivating an account, in order to delete or re-privatize the information contained within the "web profile"
When I was just a little boy, I asked my Mother What should I be !!

Did you read their usage agreement ?
I doubt the facebook info is private. It may seem private because you can block out everyone except for the ones you allow.

They do not provide a way to delete or de-activate an account. The advice from the guys over at 2600, however, works just as well if you ask me. Simply remove any pictures of yourself, and change all information to be non-factual. Turn the profile into one for your invisible friend! If there's no factual information, then it's been made benign at that point.

Maybe if a bunch of people here decide to do this, you could make a group and call it "invisible friends", and join up to it. That would make me laugh, for sure

I don't know about the slow moving idea. I went through and deleted each of my friends, pictures, groups, everything..... But I didn't think to change the name.....
Deleting might not have been as smart as changing... I like that idea.
Is my facebook profile really going to end up kicking my ass or what?
